Oilseed rape dispersal. From field to region
The aim of the GenEERA research group was to develop a methodical instrument that uses existing knowledge about the spread of oilseed rape in cultivated areas, neighbouring border biotopes and ruderal areas to derive implications for larger areas.
On the basis of findings on the growth and spread of oilseed rape, satellite pictures and maps, a simulation model was developed that depicts areas of one square kilometre. With the help of this model it is possible to estimate the dispersal dynamics of oilseed rape over larger regions.
